Horizon Construction is a traditional construction company carrying out projects up to circa £4m. Turnover in 2016 was around £12 million, generated in most sectors of the construction industry. We deliver results through a thorough understanding of our business sectors and, by using our extensive knowledge and experience, we form a first-class construction team that will exceed the expectations of clients regardless of the nature and complexity of the project.
Horizon Construction was founded in 1999 by the two current shareholding directors. Since formation the company has grown to a team of almost 40 directly employed staff. The key directors and senior management team are members of the Chartered Institute of Building, and the company is registered and qualified with Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme, Construction Line, National House Building Council, Premier Guarantee and BLP Insurance.
Design & Build
Horizon Construction works closely with specialist design teams to procure a wide variety of projects in the commercial, residential, health and sports sectors. We procure the best design professionals, trade contractors and suppliers while managing the project cost objectives and delivering to the client’s expectations.
Horizon Construction operates a small works department dealing with lower value projects up to circa £250,000, reactive and scheduled maintenance requirements, and the maintenance and modernisation of a number of key clients’ property investment stock.
Horizon Construction is proud to be included on tender lists for a number of project managers and architects where we regularly tender traditional contracts. We have a good success rate and have built long term relationships with these companies.
Horizon has built a reputation for high quality and value, with clients for whom we regularly negotiate project values and procure work under a traditional form of contract, or via an open book contract where all costs are reported on a monthly basis. This provides the client with greater flexibility, ability to react to commencement quicker, and to have involvement in the selection of trades.
Our specialist areas of expertise include:
• Bars & Restaurants
• Schools & Colleges
• Sports Facilities
• Small Works

HELP US FIGHT MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE
Early June saw a team of four from Horizon Construction – Phil Holding, Steve Tilley, Oliver Backhouse and James Wilby – take part in a London to Paris cycle ride to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease. The four-day, 308 mile ride proved to be a tough challenge for the team, but enjoyable none the less.
The ride was part of Horizon’s fundraising efforts – which have so far generated around £15,000 – to help the charity and the family of former colleague Steve Hoggarth, who died in May after suffering from the debilitating disease.
You can see the edited highlights of the ride in the video above – and if you’d like to donate, click the button to go to our Just Giving page.
